Acacia Easter Egg Hunt 2018

Laid back, natural, and fun – three adjectives to describe our family’s beautiful experience at the Acacia Egg Hunt of Acacia Waldorf School.

For years, J’s cousin had been inviting us to events of Acacia Waldorf School as his niece goes to school there. Sadly, we already have prior commitments when they invite us. So we were really glad that this time, our calendar was free so we were able to attend their egg hunt. Last week, my little Queen B and I have done several Easter-themed activities so it is nice to end it with a fun egg hunt.

The event was held at the mini-farm (yes, a mini-farm!) of the school. Upon arrival, we were asked to register and pay the registration fee of 300 Php per family inclusive of all the activities and snacks. And then we are free to explore the place and join the ongoing activities.

We love how the whole atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. It feels like we are in a big family reunion.

The first activity we joined was the mask making craft. The bunny masks were already pre-made and the kids were asked to decorate it by coloring.

I love their big crayons which are perfect for kids who are just learning how to color and draw.

There was also an egg decorating activity where the kids were asked to remove the insides of the egg first by making two small holes; one on top and the other on the bottom of the egg. Then, they were to blow on the hole to force the white and the yolk out of the shell. Afterward, they can either decorate it by dyeing the eggshell on paints or by using different colored flowers as crayons.

Blowing the white and yolk out of the shell. It was harder than it looks.

She really wanted to do this on her own.
There was also a bunny pom-pom tail craft for older kids or in our case, for me and my Mama who was with us. It was a relatively easy craft though I find the part where I have to use a crochet needle a little challenging as it must have been decades since the last time I used one.
No bunny loves you like Jesus!
Aside from the arts and crafts section, the kids were also free to roam around the mini-farm.

We saw lettuces being planted.
Organic lettuces which later on will be sold for profit.
The Pig Pen or as they call it the Pig Patio.

Love the names of the bunny houses like this Carrot Cabana.
Knock, knock...
One of her favorite part of our Easter celebration. She loves those bunnies.
Picking wildflowers. Thankful for this captured moment.

At around 10:30 AM, the teachers called us for the puppet show. It was about the tale of the Easter Hare.

The puppet show ended with an announcement that the children can now go and hunt for the eggs.
She found an egg! We love that instead of plastic eggs, the kids hunted for real eggs.
A basket full of eggs.
Which the kids ate afterward. Some we gave back to the teachers for the delicious egg salad they made for our snack.
It's a joyous day for the Diazes.
After our yummy snacks of egg salad and pandesal, we tried the other attractions of the mini-farm.

Chasing the chickens

Trying the rope course.
Wacky time with Daddy.
So proud of our little Queen B for braving this mini-zip line ride. Her Daddy was more scared than her.
We had a wonderful time. We're thankful for the beautiful memories we created together as a family. We'll definitely be back for their other events. Thank you, Aye and Ate Selene for the invites. Thank you to all the organizers.
Thank you, Jesus!
Yours,

Lady
