Little Queen B's Teddy Bears' Picnic Party

It’s Beary Fun to be One! At one year old, our little Queen B definitely have more fun these days compared to her early months of life. As she started walking without any support a month before her first birthday, Georgina uses this newfound skill to explore more of her surroundings, much to our exasperation! Like most toddlers, she loves going to places around the house she should not go to. She can also really play with her toys but still prefers our personal items as her playthings. She is such a curious toddler!

Our one-year old little Queen B!

We celebrated our little Queen B’s first birthday with a Teddy Bears’ Picnic Party theme at my mother’s house. Everything (and I mean everything) about the party was a labor of pure and unconditional love for our Georgina Blair. Let me tell the story through our pictures of this wonderful event in our precious baby's life.

Our Guest Book Table which also contains pictures of our little Queen B all throughout her first year of life and first birthday poster.
Instead of a traditional guest book, we asked our guests to color and sign a page from an ABC book.
Daddy J turned an old cabinet door frame into a picture gallery of the birthday celebrant
First birthday poster made by yours truly. I don't have the artistic talents to do a chalkboard version of this so I just used my expertise in MS Word.
Teddy Bears made from washcloths served as party favors for our guests. The little ones also received a bag of goodies from the birthday celebrant.

Dessert Bar. With help from my family, I baked brownies, blondies, cupcakes, mini-blueberry cheesecakes, and minipecan pies. We also bought chocolate chip cookies in the shape of teddy bears, Gummi Bears, marshmallows, and Stick-O.
Daddy J put together the backdrop for the dessert bar. A week before the celebration, we went to Divisoria to buy that red gingham cloth, artificial plant wall, and other party materials.  I, of course, made the birthday banner.
Mini-pecan pies and mini-blueberry cheesecake - J and I's favorite desserts. (George also loves blueberry cheesecake. )They may not look that pretty but they sure tastes good.

Brownies and Blondies.
Our set-up. We also have a Make-Your-Own-Hotdog Sandwich Bar where our guests can choose from either a chicken or regular hotdog and top it with a variety of toppings which include coleslaw, chili con carne, fresh tomatoes, onions, pickles, jalapeno peppers, cheese, ketchup, mustard, regular mayo, and pesto mayo. We also have a mini-buffet set-up composed of spaghetti, pancit canton, lumpiang prito , pork adobo, chicken pastel, and rice, of course. Our beverage station offers Raspberry Iced Tea and Moringga Citrus Juice. Unfortunately, there were no pictures of these set-ups.

The Celebration

Bro. Conrad led the prayer.

We were unable to start on time so we decided to let the guests have their fill of  the dishes we prepared for them before we have our short program. Here, some of our guests are making their own hotdog sandwich.

We especially prepared a separate meal for the little ones so they no longer have to line up. Their Teddy Bears' Grub was composed of spaghetti, chicken and apple meatballs, and brownies.

We gave out Bubble Wands to our little guests. Here, Pretty Arya clearly likes the bubbles her Daddy is making for her.

As her gift, my niece Aki sang the I Love My Teddy Bear song.
For our first game, the kids played Pass the Teddy Bear. Our inaanak Aki won this game.
For our second game, we had parent-child tandems played the classic Newspaper Dance game. The last three pairs were declared winners.

Our last game is Bring Me and here is one of our winners, Joshua.

Our little Queen B woke up early on the day of her party and had only a very short nap around 11 am. At 4:00 pm, she was already cranky and fussy so I have to take her down for a much needed nap so she missed most of the program. After an hour, we have no choice but to cut her  usual two-hour afternoon nap short since it is already the candle blowing ceremony part of the program thus the no smile look she is sporting in this picture.
Our little Queen B's Beary Birthday Cake!

I guess by next year she'll be able to blow her own candles. We actually would like her to do a cake smash but she refused to even touch her cake.

With our family.

Wacky pose.

Happy 1st Birthday, our little Queen B!  Your smile is enough to erase all the tiredness in our body. Mommy and Daddy love you beary, beary much!

Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to our friends and family members who spent their afternoon with us as we celebrate the first birthday of our Georgina Blair. Special thanks also to my brother TJ and his wife Mila, along with Auntie Glo for your help before, during, and after the party. Lastly, thank you Lord for the wonderful first year of life of our little Queen B!

#xoxo
