Dino Play: Explore the Mind-Blowing World of Dinosaurs!

My little Queen B is afraid of toy dinosaurs. In a toy store, she won't go near them and will immediately seek the comfort of our embrace when she sees one until our recent play date with my friends Michelle and Candy's sons at Mind Museum's traveling exhibition Dino Play at Ayala Mall Solenad in Nuvali.

Dino Play: Explore the Mind-Blowing World of Dinosaurs!
A Mind Museum Traveling Exhibition
G/F Bldg D, fronting National Bookstore
Ayala Mall Solenad, Nuvali, City of Santa Rosa, Laguna

We all have been to Mind Museum in Taguig but during our respective visits, the special exhibit wasn't Dino Play so we took this opportunity to see and enjoy this traveling exhibition.
These dinosaur eggs will greet you at the entrance of Dino Play. Our kiddos enjoyed pretending to be baby dinosaurs. Hmmm, I wonder. Are there dinosaur triplets?
Also at the entrance are these footprints. Kids can compare their feet size to dinosaurs. It's a good way to excite the kids to what's inside.

Upon entering, you will see this big Timeline of Earth. For older kids, this will be a good starting point to introduce the different eras and periods of our planet and what creatures lived during those periods.

Also, at the entrance are buckets with brush and spade. These are for a pretend play of being paleontologists. There are three dig sites to choose from but the best is, of course, the biggest one. My little Queen B who loves playing with sand absolutely loves this part. She kept coming back to play there.

Aside from pretending to be a paleontologist, kids can also pretend to be dinosaurs. There are capes, ponchos, and tails kids can put on.

You can use this wheel to encourage different movements. They can jump, run, dance, shake, and much more. There are also toy dinosaurs of various sizes they can play with here. They can also take care of dinosaur eggs. There is also a slide and a small tunnel.

For small kids who are still learning their shapes and colors, this Dino-shape sorter is a fun way to incorporate those lessons. It's also a good way to teach them that dinosaurs came in various sizes too!

Kids can also build their own dinosaurs using magnetized wooden blocks. George and her Kuya Kyle raced to build their own dinosaurs.

Another hit with our kids especially the two boys are the kinetic sand with miniature dinosaur fossils. Even us, mommies, played with these while chitchatting non-stop.

My little Queen B and I spent several minutes matching the images of the dinosaurs to their outlines in this metal board. George, actually, correctly matched at least half of them. The others are quite tricky for her so I have to help her.

Meanwhile, older kids can also play scientists in the fossil area of Dino Play. They can inspect these fossils using magnifying glasses.

And the part that almost gave me a heart attack is this tree house. There are four ways to go up and down the tree house; via a rope course, via a ladder, via a rock climbing course, and via that wooden climbing course. George climbed that tree house via the wooden climbing course thrice while I was talking with Michelle and Candy. She is already halfway up when I was able to reach her. Her action scared me but it also made me so proud of her. She may be scared of toy dinosaurs but not heights.

There are still other activities kids can do at Dino Play. There are also guides for the parents or guardians. The place is also littered with information boxes that educate kids about dinosaurs, the way they lived, and how scientists study them. It is a fun, interactive, and very educational exhibit that both kids and kids-at-heart will like.

Actually, two days before our playdate, my little Queen B and I already found ourselves in the vicinity of Dino Play . We accompanied my mom, who visited us during the All Saints' Day holidays, for her Korean beauty products shopping fix in Mumuso also located at Ayala Mall Solenad. When I took pictures of George with her grandma beside the giant egg with a baby dinosaur inside at the entrance of Dino Play, my little Queen B was absolutely terrified! Honestly, I was already thinking of suggesting a different venue for our play date but I'm glad I didn't.

With the active and playful presence of her Kuya Aki and Kuya Kyle, she overcame her fear of toy dinosaurs. Well, she won't be exchanging her dolls or pretend kitchen play toys for toy dinosaurs anytime soon. She's a girl through and through.  She is also still a little hesitant of them especially the bigger ones but at least now she can be near those toys without cowering in fear.

So how to get a Dino Play Pass? A one-time slot (90 minutes of play) for Dino Play is free with a purchase of a 250-Php Cinema Gift Card while an unlimited Dino Play Pass is free with a purchase of a 1000-Php Cinema Gift Card. Children ages 2-7 years old are requested to be with a guardian. There are attendants all throughout the place, though, for assistance. Guardians must also have a Dino Play Pass or they may opt to pay 100-Php instead. I opted to buy another Cinema Gift Card for my entrance fee. The Cinema Gift Card does not have an expiration date and can be used at any Ayala Mall cinema.

Here are their timeslots:

11:00 -12:30 PM / 12:30 - 2:00 PM / 2:00 - 3:30 PM / 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM/ 6:00 - 7:30 PM/ 7:30 - 9:00 PM

We were able to enter the exhibit at 2:30 PM and they allowed us to stay until 4:00 PM, maybe even longer if we weren't already hungry and decided to leave.

The Dino Play will be at Ayala Mall Solenad until November 12, 2017, so if you are nearby you still have several days to schedule your visit. Your kids will truly enjoy the place while learning a lot. Afterwards, enjoy a good meal at the numerous restaurants in Ayala Mall Solenad. You can also use that Cinema Gift Card to watch a movie.

Overall, it was a pleasurable afternoon spent with close friends. Michelle, Candy, and I are also quite happy to see our kids enjoying each other's company too. We hope that they will become close friends as their mommies are as they grow up. George kept talking about her Kuya Kyle, Kuya Kyle, and her Dino Play experience, even days after our playdate. She even wants to come back.

Stomping and roaring like the dinosaurs with you,

Lady
