Young, Wild, and Three

Nice weather, tasty treats, joyful friends and cousins, and a cute little puppy – what more can my young, wild, and three years old Queen B asks for?

A little more than a week ago, she celebrated her third birthday with a small party in our humble abode. Everything is basically impromptu as we only decided to throw her a party 5 days before.

From the food to the decorations to the invitees, everything was done at the last minute but even though the party was far from perfect party-planning wise, it was still perfect in the eyes of our birthday girl. She was so happy that she announced her birthday was extended the next day.

So today, let me share with you our little Queen B’s Young, Wild, and Three Birthday Party….

The birthday girl woke up early to help in the preparations. She particularly enjoyed the baking that we did.

Does that wood pallet look familiar? Because it is. We used it for our Advent Calendar last 2016 and it's actually from our little Queen B's wooden crib which she used for about 3 months. In our home, we love repurposing.

Blondies with lots and lots of walnuts and chunks of chocolate.

And since our little Queen B love anything pink, we also baked another batch of blondies full of pink sprinkles.

Our simple spread for our little but very special guests - pasta, hotdogs with marshmallows, blondies, juice, and buko-fruit salad (not in the picture). Those letter standees were actually first used during our little Queen B's bear-themed first birthday party. We were able to keep them in good condition so I re-used them again.

In my original plan, we're supposed to bring down our little Queen B's teepee tent in line with our Young, Wild, and 3-theme but there's actually no space for it. I kinda overestimated our tiny home.

These yummy treats welcomed our little Queen B's guests.

Our little Queen B's birthday cake bought from Red Ribbon. It's a rainbow cake. It's composed of three layers - a blue, yellow, and a pink one. It was actually very delicious.

Another prop from our little Queen B's first birthday party can be seen here. Back then, we used that artificial grass wall for her dessert table's background while now as background for our picture taking.

Her quirky side is always reserved for Daddy.

The joy she brings to our life is just unexplainable! Every day, we're thankful for her.

No need for a clown or mascot to entertain our guests, the kids and George had fun playing with my niece Aki's puppy, Jolly.

Despite the short notice, my friend Mitch and her cutie son, Kyle, were able to attend our little Queen B's birthday party.

Of course, her birthday won't be complete without her cousins, Ate Bella.

And Kuya Xander.

Some of our little Queen B's guests.

The kids enjoying their snack. George helped in serving her guests.

Some of the kids played with Jolly outside while the others played with George's pretend-kitchen and grocery booth. I can't help but be proud of her initiative to share her toys.

This was actually taken the day after her birthday party. She insisted that it was still her birthday so we repeated her candle-blowing ceremony.

This actually arrived a few days before her birthday. This was her "gulay-gulay" toy which she requested from her Auntie Era as a birthday gift. Thank you for fulfilling her birthday wish.

Our little Queen B wants to send her heartfelt thanks to

all her friends who made her birthday celebration special.

We also had a dinner celebration with the family that day. Aside from the pasta, blondies, and the buko-fruit salad, we had lechon kawali (pork belly simmered until tender and then baked in the turbo oven until crispy) and a new recipe I discovered in Pinterest: the Garlic and Chicken Paprika which I can't wait to make again. Sadly, I wasn't able to take photos. I was already so hungry.

Overall, I am glad for the opportunity to celebrate our little Queen B's birthday. Her memories of that day are still vivid as of today and that's what is important to me. I want her to have a happy, safe, carefree, and inspired childhood.

To my little Queen B,

Happy 3rd birthday! How true is the saying "the days are long but the years are short." I can't believe you're now 3, no longer a baby but a sweet, little girl. I pray that you continue to be a happy (like your favorite Princess Poppy), obedient (at least, most of the time), generous, kind-hearted, curious, and God-fearing girl. I love you so much, my forever baby!

Love,

Mommy
