J's Birthday Dinner at Kettle

After our educational and entertaining afternoon at The Mind Museum, we headed over to SM Aura for J’s birthday dinner. Since we can’t see any taxi nearby we decided to use Google Maps to walk going to SM Aura. It took us 30 minutes to arrive but that is because we stopped at Bonifacio High Street (BHS) Central to look around at Pottery Barn and Hamley’s. Our long walk increased our appetite.

Last June, our little Queen B’s Ninong Jek treated us at Fireside by Kettle in SM Megamall. It was a great dining experience. We really liked their Truffled Potato Chips, Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers with cornbread doughnuts, and the 50/50 Meatloaf. Since the main restaurant Kettle is in SM Aura we decided to try it. We are hoping that we will also have a great meal in Kettle. And Kettle did not disappoint us!

U.S. Angus Short Ribs (539 Php). Braised in Cervesa Negra and Chitpole Barbecue Sauce served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Coleslaw. This is sssoooo good! The ribs are cooked to perfection! I love their coleslaw and it looks so pretty with the inclusion of some red cabbage.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken (559 Php) served with Honey Glazed Cornbread, Country Gravy, and Cajun Honey. J and I both like the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Fingers of Fireside more over this but we absolutely prefer Kettle's cornbread.
The happy diners! Our little Queen B slept through the whole meal.
Don't worry baby, you'll be able to taste that yummy ribs from my milk!

Aside from the two mains, we also ordered three servings of their garlic rice priced at 79 Php each. We no longer ordered desserts thinking we’ll have it with coffee later at a different restaurant.

After our hearty meal, we headed down to the Family Room of SM Aura so I can nurse our little Queen B comfortably. SM Aura’s actual Breastfeeding Station found inside the Family Room is small. It can only seat 2 nursing moms but what I really like about the Family Room is the presence of several diaper changing stations. Also, both mom and dad can change their baby here unlike in other establishments where changing stations are mostly inside the women’s comfort room. It is quite difficult (though it can be done) to change a squirming baby’s nappy alone.

Since J and I are thinking of buying Georgina some leggings, we checked out the various baby stores in SM Aura. Unfortunately, we did not find the type we are looking for but J chanced upon this artificial green wall and immediately took pictures of our little Queen B a la fashion blogger.

Our little Queen B who is so full of energy after her nap and milk-time.

After our window shopping and mini-photoshoot, we find ourselves so tired (especially J who only had a short nap during his commute from the office going to our home) that we decided to go straight home.

We had our coffee and sweet treats the next evening after we attended church service.

J's complementary birthday cake from Starbucks! It tastes great!

Wake up, wake up! This cutie penguin is waiting for you to gobble her all up.
Disclaimer: Our little Queen B only got a very small taste of this gingerbread cookie.
